DIY Brush Cleaning Mat

Recently I've been seeing articles and videos on Sigma brush cleaning mat or mitt and was contemplating purchasing it. I started to look up reviews on the product, then thought to myself why don't I try to make my own before forking out $40. If my DIY didn't work then I would only be a few dollars, but if it was good then I'd be saving lots of money. Turns out that the DIY cost my $3 and this is honestly the new way I clean my makeup brushes.

The mat might look a little funny because of all the different lines and patterns I created but thats what cleans your brushes. This DIY also allows you to be creative and allows you to create any patterns you want.

What you will need:
- hard plastic matt, I used a cutting board (bought as a pack of 4 from Dollarama for $2)
-glue gun

Once you hot glue gun is heated up go mad, and create different patterns and textures with the hot glue. I went with just blobs of glue that went from a small to large along the top, then I made a diagonal lines for half and squiggly designs for the other half.

I finished off the matt with a tic-tac-toe pattern on the bottom that I would use as a rinse spot for my brushes.

To clean my makeup brushes I just take my dirty makeup brush and a little bit of baby shampoo and go mad on this mat. The textures are great for the brushes as it allows the shampoo to get deep into the brush and remove all makeup.

Hope you guys give this DIY a try.
