Every summer I tie dye, but i'm always up for finding different ways to tie dye. I've tried the sharpie tie dye and last year did tie dye in a mason jar and LOVED IT. This year I found another way to tie dye and its with ice, who would of thought you could tie dye with ice cause I never. I LOVE this tie dye trick, I only made mine with 1 colour as it was my first time doing it but it would look awesome with multiple colours.
What You Need
- tshirt or fabric to tie dye
- bucket
- water
- rubber gloves (to protect your hands from the die)
- dye
- rack (I used a cooking rack)
- ice
- bucket

- ice
Step 1
Soak your t-shirt or fabric in water for a few minutes then wring out the shirt as best as you can.
Step 2
Make sure your bucket is empty and place the rack on top of the bucket. Then twist your shirt in what ever way you want and place it on the rack. Next take your ice and place it on the shirt. You will need a nice bit of ice, I used about 3 ice trays of ice. No worries the ice will stick to the shirt, just make sure that your shirt is covered in ice
Step 3
Put on your rubber gloves and add the powdered dye on the ice, just remember less is more. I just used teal but other colours or multiple colours would look great.
Leave your shirt until the ice completely meals, I left mine over night.
Step 5
Rinse your shirt to get rid of the extra dye and leave it to dry.
Hope you guys enjoy this DIY as much as I did.
