DIY Marble and Ombre Easter Eggs
11:05:00 AMI'm always up for finding new ways to decorate eggs and I kind of randomly came across these ideas. Every year I would dye eggs with just for colouring and then I thought sure I could make them ombre, it wouldn't be much more work. Also since marble is the new fad thought of ways to make marbled eggs, it took a bit of trial and error but I found a great quick and easy marbled egg recipe I guess you could call it.
Marbled Eggs
What you need
- eggs (either hard boiled or blown out)
- vinegar
- oil
- water
- food colouring
- spoon
- plastic cup
- tbsp measurement
Step 1
Fill your plastic cup about 3/4 the way full with water. Then add 1 tbsp of vinegar and 1 tbsp of oil. The oil and water will be separated but don't worry because that is suppose to happen. Next you want to add the food colouring f your choice, I would recommend about 6 drops, but make it to your desired color.
Step 2
Once all the ingredients are in your cup you need to work a but quickly. You will need the plastic cup with all your ingredients in it, a spoon and your eggs. What you want to do is mix all your ingredients in the cup together, you will add your egg and you are stirring because the oil will start to separate from the oil. Once you get your egg to the desired pattern take it out and leave it to dry. You can always do 2 colors of marbled, just repeat the same process with a different color once your egg is dry.
Ombre Eggs
What you need
- eggs (boiled or blown out)
- food colouring
- plastic cups
- water
Fill your cup 3/4 full of water, I would recommend using 3 cups, to have 3 different shades for the ombre. Then add food colouring to your water for your first shade add at least 6 drops of colouring then add about 3-4 more drops per cup. For the first color you want to submerge the egg into the color and leave it in the cup until you get it to the desired color. Just remember that this is the lightest color for the ombre. Then put your egg out to dry. Next put your egg 3/4 into the middle color and then leave it to dry. For the last color put the e.g. about 1/4 into the cup (this is the darkest shade) then leave it told dry.
